Thursday, June 14, 2012
-
The Manville Fire Department and Somerset Medical Center Ambulance were dispatched to a report of a structure fire at 1020 St John Street. While enroute, command could see the column of smoke and requested a second alarm be dispatched.

First arriving Chiefs found a fully involved shed at the rear of the property with an exposure of the neighbors garage approximately 4-feet away on the Delta side.

All second alarm units were cancelled while responding with the exception of FInderne's  FAST Team. The fire was quickly brought under control with two hand lines, one from Tower 42 and one from Engine 102,  and less than 1000 gallons of water.

The homeowner was not home at the time of the fire which is still under investigation.
